I've been excited for this session ever since my friend first approached me about taking photos of her family months ago. She was looking for photos of her family and the HORSE they intended to buy. Between the horse farm where she wanted to shoot, and being willing to meet me at the time I say will be best for light, rather than wanting a more convenient time, I was pretty excited. When I got there and saw this is what I was working with I knew I'd be able to make a little magic.

After a bad camera drop, weather popping up and scheduling between our families and I was afraid it wouldn't happen, but it all came together just in time!

Full confession....I'm pretty sure 90 percent of my experience with horses involves watching actor horses on shows and TV shows. They always seem pretty into people...conversational almost with their knowing looks and nuzzling their "people". Well in reality, I'm pretty sure this guy Bubba only cared about eating grass. People think photographing toddlers is hard but imagine if a toddler was a giant and kept trying to eat grass with their face when you were trying to take a picture of them! Toddlers are easy by comparison and actually my favorite age group to photograph. I still think we managed to trick him a couple times into getting his head up for a few photos.

Okay maybe not all the time.

Thanks for stopping by and please keep Kristi B.E. Photography in mind when scheduling photos for your family or four legged friend. Until next time!
